How to Choose an Audience for a Personalized Video Campaign
A practical way to define who belongs in your campaign, choose useful recipient data, and prepare a small test before generating personalized videos.

Start with one clear campaign goal
Choose your audience by starting with the action you want recipients to take. A focused goal helps you decide who should receive the video and what information needs to change for each person.
Write down the audience, the next step you want them to take, and the video detail that would make the message relevant. Keep the first campaign narrow enough to review row by row.
Build an audience-selection worksheet
Use this worksheet before you collect or upload campaign data. It is a planning aid, not an interactive tool.
- Campaign goal: What should the recipient do next?
- Audience rule: What shared need, role, relationship, or situation makes someone relevant?
- Include: Which people meet that rule and have the information needed for a useful message?
- Exclude: Who should not receive this campaign, or whose data is incomplete?
- Personalization: Which one or two details should change in the video?
- Data source: Where will those details come from, and who will check them?
- Review: What will you verify in sample videos before generating the full batch?
Choose criteria that make the message relevant
A useful audience rule connects a recipient to the campaign goal. For example, a sales team might select a defined group of prospects who share a relevant business need; a marketing team might select a specific segment for a particular offer. These are planning examples, not performance claims.
Avoid adding people just because their records are available. If you cannot explain why the message fits a recipient, tighten the audience rule or leave that person out.
Keep the data focused on the message
List only the recipient-specific values the video needs. BHuman campaigns use a template and a data source, with each campaign row supplying values for one generated video. Variables can hold spoken text, a call-to-action URL, a background URL, an image, or another row-specific value.
Use clear, stable variable names and map each one to the matching column or field. For spoken text, send only the words that replace the variable; fixed words already in the template should not be repeated in the data.
Test a small set before the full campaign
Prepare a few representative rows, including any edge cases such as a long name or an empty value. Preview the mappings and check the generated videos for correct names, pronunciation, timing, subtitles, and any background assets.
Campaign setup can use CSV or Excel, Zapier, Leadr, Pabbly, or API inputs. Generation requires a ready template, a valid data source, mapped required variables, values for those mappings, and any required background coverage for Mini mode. Check setup before submitting the full batch.
Use this decision rule to refine the audience
Keep a recipient in the audience when the campaign goal applies to them, the message can be personalized with accurate data, and the next step makes sense for them. Exclude or hold records that fail one of those checks.
If the audience is too broad to review meaningfully, split it into smaller groups with different needs or messages. If it is too small to justify a separate campaign, consider whether the same template and personalization fields genuinely fit everyone.
Prepare the campaign in BHuman
Once your audience and worksheet are ready, start a campaign from a ready AI Studio template that has a source video and at least one variable. Choose a viewing mode, load your data, map variables, configure any needed extras, and generate videos. Review the generated results and their statuses after submission.
Use the worksheet to make the audience decision first; then use BHuman’s campaign setup to connect the chosen data and template. A careful audience definition does not replace reviewing generated videos before sharing them.
